Community Garden

Do you have a green thumb?  If so, join your neighbors and community members at Stanton's newest feature... a Community Garden!

The City in partnership with the Community Action Partnership of Orange County and United Way, are proud to announce the location of our new Community Garden at 7455 Katella Avenue.  The major cross streets are Katella Avenue and Western Avenue.

The Garden is officially open, as the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony was held on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at 3:30 p.m.

Garden Information

Residents will be able to plant and maintain fruits and vegetables at the 20,830 square foot lot, which will have room for parking as well.  Some of the highlights for the garden include making use of drought-conscious watering techniques like sub-irrigation and ollas.

The main goal of the garden is to produce food, though there will be space for flowers. No pesticides, weed killers, fertilizers, or other chemical agents will be allowed in the garden.  The Community Action Partnership of Orange County (CAPOC) is moving forward with notifying the neighborhood of the new garden location and has scheduled several community meetings with surrounding neighborhoods to create a list of those interested in participating in the garden

Those interested in a plot should contact Natalie Anderson at (714) 899-3684 ext. 5310 or e-mail her at nanderson@capoc.org,  The Community Garden is open to all residents.
