The City of Stanton is pleased to offer a Citizens Academy program! The Academy is a eight-week community and leadership development program designed to heighten citizen awareness and create better-informed citizens who will promote a positive outlook regarding the City and community as a whole.
Through a series of classes offered in the fall of each year, the Academy will provide citizens with an opportunity to learn about the internal logistics of local government along with the City's history and the future direction of the community. The Academy will also provide City education and leadership skills to those individuals who may desire to serve as a future commissioner or elected official.
The next Citizens Academy Class will begin in September 2012. The Academy sessions will be held once per week beginning at 6 p.m. and ending no later than 8 p.m. All classes will be held at City Hall. Applicants from all segments of the community are encouraged to apply.
Enrollment will be limited to 25 participants and applicants must be 18 years of age. Applicants will be selected on a first come, first serve basis.
