West Nile Virus in Stanton

Sep 15 2020

The Orange County Mosquito and Vector Control District has confirmed the first mosquito samples infected with West Nile virus (WNV) in the City of Stanton. The surveillance traps were set in the area of Stanton Park on 9/9/2020 and tested positive for WNV on 9/11/2020. Inspectors will be out in the area to check known sources of mosquito breeding and try to identify any unknown sources.

Residents should take precautions and wear mosquito repellents when outdoors during times when mosquitoes are most active (dawn or dusk).

Prevent the spread of WNV and #TipTossTakeAction!

  • Tip out standing water
  • Toss unneeded containers
  • Take action and apply repellent to prevent bites
