The City of Stanton is pleased to announce the opening of the pocket park located on the corner of Orangewood Avenue and Beach Boulevard. The park features freestanding, five-foot-high metal letters spelling out “STANTON” as well as three types of grasses, shrubs, and succulents. The park also contains a pathway that connects Beach Boulevard to Stanton Avenue.

On Tuesday, December 12, 2017, the Stanton City Council unanimously elected Council Member David J. Shawver to serve as City Mayor for the 2018 calendar year. Council Member Rigoberto A. Ramirez was unanimously selected to serve as Mayor Pro Tem.

The City of Stanton is working to comply with the California Voting Rights Act of 2001.  Beginning with the November 2018 elections, Stanton voters will start to elect members of the City Council from geographically defined districts, rather than through a citywide at-large voting process.

The City of Stanton shut down an illegal marijuana dispensary today, sending a clear message of zero tolerance for illegal businesses in the City. The Orange County Sheriff’s Department served a lockout warrant for an illegal marijuana dispensary on the 8800 block of Katella Ave. in Stanton, CA. on the morning of April 20th.

Stanton Kermore Lane residents are finally driving on a smooth street after years of traveling on a dirt road which lacked curbs and gutters. The area known as Kermore Lane belonged to the County of Orange until March 2012 when Stanton City Council authorized the City to move forward with the annexation of the Kermore Island from the County.

The City of Stanton and the Stanton Business Alliance honored local businesses during the 7th Annual Business Appreciation Luncheon held on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at the Stanton Community Center. This year’s event had a strong showing with 160 members of the Stanton business community in attendance. Local organizations such as the North Orange County Chamber of Commerce, Small Business Administration (SBA), SCORE and the Garden Grove One Stop participated with displays at the event. Box was recognized as one of Orange County’s 100 Most Influential People of 2016 for his vision in the development of Stanton Central Park and the implementation of a successful public-private partnership model to fund the ongoing maintenance costs of the park.
