EV Charging Stations at City Hall

May 25 2017

The City of Stanton is helping save the environment one charge at a time with the recent installation of Charge Point electric vehicle stations at City Hall. Stations will provide residents and fleet vehicles with a cleaner energy supply and promote the reduction in fuel emissions within our environment.

The dual charging station located at City Hall's public parking structure, is available to residents and the public at a competitive rate of 20 cents per kilowatt/hour, compared to .38 cents at other locations and .50 at Disneyland!

For ease of use and convenience, stations accept electronic payment through the Charge Point mobile app. The app also allows users to find available stations, receive notifications on vehicle charging status and view charging history. The City anticipates charging stations will be utilized amply due to the popularity of hybrid vehicles and the station being registered on the Charge Point mobile app.

This project was funded by the Air Quality Management Fund (AQMD) and did not have an impact on the General Fund. Revenue from charging stations will be allocated back to the AQMD fund to support future environmentally friendly projects.
