Celebrate the Fourth of July Responsibly, Say NO to Illegal Fireworks

With the Fourth of July holiday approaching, the City of Stanton would like to request everyone to be safe and considerate of each other.  Please use only safe and sane fireworks, and do not participate in the lighting of illegal fireworks. City Council recently adopted new illegal fireworks fines ranging from $1,000 to $80,000 for each violation.

Please ensure you are only using safe and sane fireworks to avoid a significant fine.

Residents can report in progress illegal fireworks discharge to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department at (714) 889-7866. Suspicious illegal firework activity can be reported to Stanton Code Enforcement at (714) 890-4221.

To prevent property loss, and ensure the safety of your family, your home, and your business, the City of Stanton has scheduled additional law enforcement and fire protection personnel for the night of July 4th. Please enjoy this holiday but observe the following safety rules:

  • City Parks will close at 7:30 p.m.
  • Safe and Sane Fireworks may only be discharged on private
  • residential property.
  • NO person under the age of 18 years shall purchase ANY fireworks, including safe and sane.
  • DO NOT DISCHARGE FIREWORKS ON ANY PUBLIC SIDEWALK, RIGHT-OF-WAY, CITY STREET, CITY PARK, OR PRIVATE, COMMERCIAL OR  INDUSTRIAL PROPERTY.
  • Any person found in violation of these provisions may be issued an administrative citation by an enforcement officer and subject to a $1,000—$80,000 fine for each violation.

Fireworks may only be discharged on: July 4th 10 a.m.—11 p.m.
