Emergency Preparedness

While no plan can completely prevent death and destruction, good plans carried out by knowledgeable and well-trained personnel can and will minimize losses. The plan establishes the emergency organization, assigns tasks, specifies policies and general procedures, and provides for coordination of planning efforts of the various emergency staff and service elements utilizing the Standardized Emergency Management System (SEMS) and the National Incident Management System (NIMS). The plan will be executed through the use of these management tools.

The Plan incorporates and coordinates all the facilities and personnel of the City, County of Orange and the Orange County Operational Area member jurisdictions into an efficient organization capable of responding effectively to any emergency.

Emergency Services

To prepare citizens and businesses in the City of Stanton for an emergency, we participate in a collaboration of events with all Orange County cites. This collaborative efforts, provides each city within Orange County, access to emergency services throughout the County.

To prepare residents and businesses for an emergency, start with guidelines offered by one of our partners Ready OC.

As our City continues to develop and provide emergency services to keep our citizens and businesses safe, we will add events to our calendar (add link to the current month City Calendar) for current programs and services offered throughout Orange County.

Alert OC is a mass notification system designed to notify Orange County residents and businesses of pertinent information related to emergency incidents. By registering with Alert OC, time-sensitive voice messages from the County or the City of Stanton may be sent to your home, cell phone, or business phone. Text messages may also be sent to cell phones, e-mail accounts and hearing impaired receiving devices. Mass notification systems have been credited with saving lives during the 2007 Southern California wildfires by quickly notifying residents of evacuation instructions. Your participation in the system will allow the City and the County to more quickly and efficiently transmit important emergency information to the community. This system is voluntary and you may opt out at any time. To register with Alert OC, click here.
